Providence is an American television drama series.

A talented but disenchanted high school student seeking more advanced instruction sneaks inside the ivy covered gates of nearby Brown University. Masquerading as a college student he is soon matching morals with a young co-ed, and wits with his literature professor. His passion for learning affects and amazes all those around him, but soon his house of cards begins to crumble and the penalties could do more than jeopardize just his academic future. Set in 1844 Ireland, Providence Falls revolves around Liam O’Conner, a rogue and a thief, who falls in love with Cora McLeod, a fiery but sheltered aristocrat’s daughter, who is promised in marriage to a man she barely knows. This story is divided in three chapters. 1) "The Visitor": The drifter writer Tran Thanh Loc arrives in an old house and is lodged by the gorgeous Hoa. Along the days, he falls in love for her and discloses the truth about the hostess. 2) "Only Child": Loc is sick, totally disconnected of the world, but his nurse Linh heals him. He writes the best-seller The Visitor about his relationship with Hoa and becomes a successful writer. He proposes and marries Linh, but when he decides to have a baby, Linh is haunted by her hidden obscure past. 3) "The Diviner": Linh's parents send the fraudulent diviner Lan to use her pretentious knowledge of Feng Shui to help Loc, and she sees ghost in the house. Her son and aspirant writer Bao does not believe on his mother until he finds a surprising secret about Loc.

Howard Phillips Lovecraft sometimes wrote his tales in a state of trance, even unconsciousness. Starting from mysterious audio tapes found at his home, 'Return to Providence' reveals the duplicity of this man from another time in broad daylight. We find him lost in his fantasies, trapped between the fear of vanished gods at the end of the seas and the peace of his childhood home in Providence, place of wisdom and constant daydreams.
